The Challenge of Printing Digital Handwriting
Converting typed notes into digital handwriting is only half the process. When printing generated PDF documents onto physical paper, improper printer scaling or low export resolution can result in blurry text or misaligned notebook lines. Follow this guide for flawless print quality.
Step 1: Set DPI Multiplier to 300 DPI
Standard screen displays render at 72 or 96 DPI. However, physical paper printers require 300 DPI (3x Quality) to print crisp lines and smooth ink bleeds. In our generator options, ensure 300 DPI resolution is selected prior to exporting PDFs or PNG images.
Step 2: Calibrate Printer Scaling to 100%
When opening your PDF in Adobe Acrobat, Chrome PDF Viewer, or Preview, printer settings often default to "Fit to Page" or "Shrink to Printable Area". This rescales the document and misaligns the text baselines relative to physical paper rules. Always select Actual Size or set scaling to 100%.
